Our Home The Peace Center is located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. We have been working for community peace and social justice since 1982. Our programs are designed to help reduce violence and conflict in our schools, homes and communities through a multicultural, community-based approach. We are dedicated to furthering peace by understanding and managing conflict in our community, our nation and our world.

Our Vision: A diverse community committed to living together in justice and peace.
Our Mission:To educate, empower and support individuals and organizations in efforts to prevent violence, promote peaceful resolution of conflict and foster inclusive, equitable and safe communities locally, nationally and worldwide.

* Events and Workshops Calendar
An important extension of the Peace Center's educational activities. We invite you to join us for upcoming events, forums, and workshops. Items include Peaceful Parenting, Conflict Management, Peace Awareness, Multicultural Issues, Meetings and Fund Raising Activities.
* Project Peace For Schools
A unique, comprehensive approach to peace education and violence prevention that promotes a safe school environment and encourages optimal learning through academic and social growth. Training is offered to administrators, educators, support staff, students and parents with continued follow-up and support over a three year period.
* VIP (Ventures In Peace)
A 16 week program focused on teaching effective communication, anger management, and life skills. The program uses the curriculum of Steven Covey's "7 habits of Highly Effective Teens" combined with team/leadership activities. The group focuses on self-improvement and growth. For teens 13 to 17. * S.A.F.E. (Supportive Alliance for Family Empowerment)
Men Helping Men Stop Violence - A program developed by John Anthony Bochnowicz to empower families to stop the cycle of abuse and violence by working individually with spouses and in groups.
* Peace Camp
Teaches children skills in cooperation, conflict resolution, and emotional awareness. Skill building games and activities make learning an enjoyable experience. Designed for children ages 7-12.
* Bucks County Mediation Services
A staff of trained, experienced mediators provide a non-adversarial process for resolving neighborhood or family conflicts.

* Book Reviews

            "When I Get Angry" provides parents, teachers, and counselors with a humorous and engaging read-aloud picture book to help pre-K through 10-year-old children explore healthy reactions to anger. The scenarios are based on 5 years of research conducted by the authors who, as elementary education professors and researchers in conflict resolution, analyzed hundreds of children's' anger patterns.

Our Library includes a selection of curricula, books, videos and articles relating to violence prevention, conflict resolution, mediation, parenting, cooperative games, and peace issues.
* Parent Talk and Parenting Resources
Parenting questions and answers for parents, originally published in the Bucks County Courier Times.
Written by a team of parent advisors from the Peace Center and the YWCA of Bucks County.
* Anger and Emotional Pain
How do you deal with your Anger and Emotional Pain?
* Stereotyping
Balancing actions to counteract assumptions and stereotyping. How to help overcome racism and other "-isms".

Our Web site is an important extension to our efforts. As with most non-profit organizations, the need greatly exceeds the resources we can deploy. Our hope is that through interaction with other concerned individuals and groups we can jointly expand our efforts.
* United Way of Bucks County
Website describes services and UW commitment to solving community problems by supporting agencies working in various Primary Areas of Service: Strengthening Families, Encouraging Youth, Caring for Older Adults, and Preventing Violence & Substance Abuse.
* The Peace Fair
Annual event to promote harmony in the home, the community, and the world. Free admission for art, crafts, music, and family fun. Meet Bucks County Peace and Social Service Agencies and learn about their work. Held each September at the Historic Buckingham Friends Meeting in Lahaska, Pa.
* PeaceTalks
Learn about alternatives to violence. A series of original radio shows about people finding uplifting, unique and creative ways to move beyond violence.
